Reze/Bomb Devil Chainsawman Cosplay

I made this costume for Crunchyroll Expo’s 2021 Cosplay Cup and won a Judge’s Award for it! I am so super happy with how it turned out. I’m planning on making a detailed tutorial for it eventually.

Some things you might not be able to tell from the photo include the tiny smoke machines I put into each glove and some tiny flashing lights on the dynamite dress for an extra bombastic effect.

The shirt was adapted from a McCall’s men’s dress shirt pattern and was ironed and measured about a million times to make sure everything matched perfectly. And I used flat felled seams for the first time, and I’m in love. So flat and neat. So beautiful. So much more work. I used a retro-style pattern for the shorts to get that super high waist that Reze loves.

The helmet was a real pain in the ass to make and I went through about four drafts before I settled on the final version. I also have about 5% visibility when I wear it. I used Alclad Black Chrome paint to get that lovely shiny look.
